PATRICK ENGEL

Patrick Jay Engel of Mora, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 4, 2025, in Duluth, Minnesota. He was 25 years old.

Patrick was born on December 18, 1999, at the Hospital in Cambridge, MN, to Jessica Worthington and Mark Carlson. He went to school in both Ogilvie and Mora before proudly earning his GED.

Patrick was truly a bright light in everyone’s life. He was known for his infectious smile, warm hugs, and a flair for fashion that really showcased his fun personality. He loved to express himself through his wardrobe. In his free time, Patrick enjoyed going for walks that often turned into exciting adventures, such as climbing trees and sharing hearty laughs, playing Xbox, and exploring all of the attractions that Duluth and Canal Park had to offer. Always up for trying something new, he wasn't hesitant to take risks. And let's not forget his love for Frank's hot sauce—"He put that $#!t on everything".

Patrick will always be remembered for his big, strong hugs, warm smile, and the wonderful young man he was. He is greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his little sister, Linneah Carlson.

Patrick is survived by his loving mother, Jessica Worthington; his father, Mark Carlson; his devoted siblings, Candice Carlson, Corbin Carlson, and Keyan Carlson; aunt, Chelsea Bassett; uncle, Michael Bassett; grandmother, Jody Bassett; and many extended family members and friends.

In the lieu of Flowers and Memorial Trees, Memorials are preferred to the Family.

A Memorial Service was held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Hamilton Funeral Homes – Akkerman Chapel in Mora, with Pastor Robert DeYoung.

A Gathering of Family and Friends was held two hours prior to the service (4-6 pm) at the funeral home.
