PHYLLIS BERGREN Obituary

Phyllis Maxine (Peterson) Bergren, of Ogilvie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at St. Clare’s Living Community in Mora. She was 90 years old.

Born on February 6, 1935, at home in Brunswick township, Phyllis was the youngest of nine children of Charles and Senora (Huser) Peterson. Phyllis attended Lewis Lake Monroe District 32 from 1st to 7th grade and then graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1953.

After high school, she worked at Blaw-Knox in Mora. She married her high school sweetheart, Russell Bergren, on February 21, 1954. In 1956, while Russ was in the service, they spent the year in Germany. Upon their return, Phyllis resumed working at Blaw-Knox until their first son, David, was born. She continued to stay at home, cherishing the moments spent with family and lending a helping hand with the farm work. Her family expanded with the addition of children Vicki, Mike, and Angela.

She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She expressed her faith in God. Phyllis found solace in verses such as John 14:1: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.”

Phyllis is preceded by parents Charles and Senora; husband Russell; siblings: Viola (Einar) Landt, Bernice (Harlan) Skogman, Morris Peterson, Ruby (J.) Miller, Warren Peterson, Gene (Phyllis) Peterson, Allen (Adeline) Peterson, Charles (Lois) Peterson; and her grandson Jake Villa.

She is survived by her children: Dave (Marcia) Bergren, Vicki Hanson, Mike (Cathy) Bergren, and Angie Bergren (Kurt); 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and by many special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brunswick with Pastor Jacob Burkman and Pastor Dennis Heiden officiating.  Video of the Service
