A tribute in loving memory of our husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and great-great grandpa.
Robert "Bob" A. Hasser, who passed away Saturday December 2, 2023, at the age of 83 years old. He was in the care of St. Croix Hospice at St. Clare Living Community, Mora, MN. He will be lovingly missed.
Robert “Bob” Hasser of Stanchfield, Minnesota, was born December 29, 1939, to Henry and Ann Hasser in Pine River, MN. He was the youngest of 12 children. After graduating from high school, dad enlisted in and served in the United States Air Force. After serving his term, he was honorably discharged and returned home where he met and united in marriage to Muriel Sybrant. To this union, they had three children: Cathy, Bonni and Danny. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
They lived in Minneapolis for a short time before they moved to their home place in Stanchfield, where they currently reside. Bob started his postal career in 1961 in Minneapolis. He then transferred to Braham in 1975 and worked there as a clerk until he was appointed May 16, 1985, as postmaster in Braham, Minnesota. He enjoyed working close to home and retired from his postal career in October 1992.
Bob had many interests in life, like fishing, playing softball with the Grandy Indians, bowling, and golfing. These interests carried through to his retirement where he continued playing golf, fishing, gardening, playing cards (especially cribbage), and watching all kinds of sports, mainly baseball and football.
Bob’s final gift was in donating his body to the University of Minnesota bequest program.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ann (Lingen) Hasser; brothers, Joseph, Jack and Donald; sisters, Rita, Martha and Mary.
Bob is survived by his wife, Muriel; daughters, Cathy (Dave) Fleming, Bonni (Kenny) Becklin; son Dan (Karen) Hasser; brothers, Henry “Hank” (Lenore) Hasser, Francis (Sandra) Hasser; sisters, Betty Stradtman, Bea (Richard) Prellwitz, Laura (Everett) Balko; sisters-in-law, Lila Hasser, Lorraine Rote; grandchildren, Sara (Jayson), Alyssa (Brent), Eric, Andy (Jackie), Patrick (Chelsea); great grandchildren, Emily, Caleb, Allie, Jacob, Calla, Bergen; great-great grandchild Rhyen; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
