ROBERT KNOLL SR.

Robert Simon Knoll Sr., of Mora, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at his home. He was 84 years old.

Robert was born on February 6, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Joseph Sr. and Nadine (Greiner) Knoll. He grew up in the Minneapolis area and at 17 years old, enlisted in the United States Navy where he traveled the world during the Korean War in service to his country.  After his discharge, He returned home and began working as a die cast machinist.  Bob spent the majority of his career working for Hartzell Company before retiring in 2000. 

In 1963, Robert was united in marriage to Marcia Olson.  They were blessed with 2 children, Robbin and Robert Jr.  After battling cancer, Marcia passed away on June 13, 1981.

In 1994, Bob was united in marriage to Sharon (Taylor) Kenney, and her 2 children, Pam and Jeff joined the family.

Bob loved the outdoors and tending to his lawn and gardens.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his brother Joe.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Marcia; sister Joan Bauer, and brother Joseph Knoll Jr.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; children, Robbin (Tim) Dwyer and Robert Jr “Bobby” (Jessy) Knoll; Sharon’s children, Pam (Eric) Schafer and Jeff (Clare) Kenney;  grandchildren Travis (Stacy), Jake (Sabrina), Amanda (Cody), Alexis, Justin, Evan, Hannah, and Trenton; great grandchildren,  Trinity, Elijah, Malachi, Noah, Evelyn, Mariah, Lincoln, Jeffery, Steven;  sister Nadine Bauer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Akkerman Chapel in Mora.  Russ Palmer will officiate.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

Military Honors will be provided by the Mora American Legion Post 201.

Interment will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.
