ROBERT KROSCHEL

Robert "Bob" Kroschel, of Mora, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the St. Clare Living Community in Mora.  He was 94 years old.

Bob was born on October 14, 1929, on the family farm in Kroschel, Minnesota to parents Adolph and Dora (Schlafle) Kroschel. The 2nd oldest of 4 children, Bob attended Kroschel Country School where his mother was his teacher.  He attended Hinckley High School, graduating in 1947. 

He remained on the family farm helping with the chores and raising mink with his uncle Fritz.  He worked road construction until he was drafted into the United States Army on September 14, 1951.  He served overseas in Korea before being honorably discharged in June of 1953.  He returned to Mora and eventually settled on a farm west of town.  Bob was employed by the Mora School system, working as a custodian at the Fairview Elementary School, before retiring after 26 years.

Bob was united in marriage on September 28, 1974, to Patricia Ann (Pfluger).  They enjoyed life on the farm until her death in October of 2008.

Bob loved the outdoors and just being outside.  Hunting, fishing, trapping, and cutting wood were his favorite activities.  He enjoyed raising horses and riding and helped to start the Pine Creek Saddle Club.  After selling the farm, Bob moved to the Park Forest Apartments in Mora where he spent his final years.

Bob was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran in Kroschel and most recently Zion Lutheran in Mora.  He was an active member of the church and served on various boards over the years.  His steadfast faith in his Lord and savior has truly brought him home to heaven now.  Death takes the body, God takes the soul, our minds hold the memories, our hearts keep the love, our faith lets us know – we will meet again.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia, siblings, Hugo Kroschel, Rosa Swanson, and Dorine (Paul) Hedtke.

He is survived by Patricia's son Gary (Marlys) Schultz and their family; sister-in-law Fran Kroschel; brother-in-law Ronald Swanson; nephews and nieces, Rick (Elizabeth) Kroschel, Wayne (Vicki) Kroschel, Stephen Kroschel, Rhonda Swanson, Brenda (Harley Zimmer) Swanson, Lori Edgar, Mary Clontz, Paul (Tammi) Hedtke, Fred (Mari) Hedtke; many other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora with Pastor Anthony Cloose officiating.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

Light Refreshment and Fellowship will immediately follow the service at church.

Interment will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Kroschel.
