Sharon I. Halpaus, of Bloomington, formerly of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Minnesota Masonic Care Center in Bloomington. She was 88 years old.
Sharon Irene was born on November 21, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Clarence and Viola (Soderstrom) Nahnsen. She grew up in the Mora area, graduating from Mora High School.
Sharon was united in marriage to Edward Richard Halpaus on April 19, 1965. They settled in Mora where they raised three daughters, Linda, Barbara, and Heather. Sharon worked in accounting for several different employers over the years. She and Ed moved several times around the Midwest for his job, before retiring and returning to Mora.
Sharon had a great love of art and especially painting. She also enjoyed flowers and butterflies. Most of all, Sharon loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward; and grandson Jesse Black V.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Black (Philip Halphen), Barbara Barlage (Mahmoud Sonbol), and Heather (Jerry) Schaper; grandchildren, Abigail (Glenn), Grant (Nicole), Erin (Matt), Iven, Logan (Melissa), Jeffrey (Adrianna), Jake (Ana); great grandchildren, Saiya, Kevin "Tre", Connor, Levity, Hannah, Madison, Hannah, Grayson, Molly, Nora, and August; sister Carol Fredrick; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Akkerman Chapel in Mora with Pastor Terry Tilton officiating.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
