VINCENT L SPRINGER

Vincent “Vince” Leon Springer, of rural Braham, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at his home.  He was 57 years old.

Vincent was born on March 25, 1965, in Missouri Valley, Iowa to parents Frank and Genevieve (Sandbothe) Springer.  Vince began his life in Woodbine, Iowa, spending much of his time on his grandparent’s farm before moving to Mora, MN, with his family.  Vince was never far from the great outdoors and farm life where he worked hard and played harder with his siblings and cousins growing up.  This work/play rhythm was with Vince throughout his life.  He was very proud to have worked for Graco for 38 years.

When Vince's workday was done at Graco he would be at the farm to do whatever it was that needed to be done from cutting hay to tagging calves. Once the work was done you could find him either down at the river fishing or in the boat. As the seasons changed, he would be out cutting wood or waiting in the woods for a deer to come across his sight. He was always ready to listen to your problems, offer his advice, or lend a helping hand. 

Vince's favorite holiday was the 4th of July he loved putting on a fireworks show for the neighborhood even if it wasn't the 4th.

Vincent and Bonnie united in marriage on February 18, 2022, but their love for each other began eighteen years ago. He treasured his family and friends especially his grandchildren. Vincent always expressed his love for Bonnie she was his true love as he was hers. He will be dearly missed by all. Love you Vincent.

Vince is preceded in death by his father Frank, siblings Denise, Daniel, David, and Ann; father and mother-in-law Dwaine and Laverne McKinnon; and brother-in-law Bob McKinnon.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie McKinnon; mother Genevieve Nordin; children Zachary Springer, Onnalee (Seth) Wier, and Olivia (Bret) Kent; grandchildren, Callahan Wier, Alaina, Axel, and Aubrie Kent; siblings, James (Connie) Springer, Dianne (Douglas) Jensen, Victoria (Michael) Peterson, Cynthia (Andrew) Bloom, and Melissa (Cory) Carroll;  sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly (Pat) Bankers, Barbara (Scott) Peterson, Bradley( Noel) McKinnon, and Brent (Emily) McKinnon; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes- Akkerman Chapel in Mora with Fr. Derek Wiechmann officiating.

Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

Military Honors will be provided by the Mora American Legion Post 201

Inurnment will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022 in the Grasston Union Cemetery
