Virginia Lou Luecken, lovingly known as "Ginger," passed away peacefully at her home in Stanchfield, Minnesota on February 16, 2025, at the age of 79.
Ginger was born on October 25, 1945, in Saint Louis County, Minnesota, to John and Emma Mary (Kirk) Smith. She and her sibling grew up in Greaney MN on a farm. She and her two siblings lived there until they got married and moved out to start their own families. She lived a full and vibrant life, deeply rooted in love for her family, her faith, and the great outdoors. Whether she was tending to her garden, planting flowers, hunting, or fishing, Ginger found joy in nature and passed that passion on to those she loved. Her grandkids loved cooking in the kitchen with Grandma and eating her homemade cookies, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
She will be remembered for her strong spirit, her deep love for her family, and her unshakable appreciation for the simple beauty of the world around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Ginger was preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence "Butch" Luecken, parents, John and Emma Smith; her brother, Robert (Darlene) Smith; her in-laws, John and Caroline Luecken; brothers-in-law Sonny Luecken, George Luecken, Kenny Lindholm, and Dick Wefel; and sisters-in-law Mary Ann Luecken, Sharon Luecken.
She is survived by her sons, Mark (Sandy) Luecken and Cory Luecken; cherished grandchildren Hailey (Seth) Coy and Chase (Hanna Barnes) Luecken; and her beloved great-grandchildren Praxton, Kohen, Genevieve, and Elliana Coy. She also leaves behind her dear sister Judy (Alvin) Cin; and her in-laws: Ronald (Gloria) Luecken, Glorie Luecken, Jack (Donna) Luecken, Richard (Jody) Luecken, Florence Wefel, Susie (Ron Plante) Lindholm, Millie (Bill) Anderson, Janice (Rusty) Wagner; as well as many nieces and nephews who adored her. She will be especially missed by her loving caregiver and friend, Alyssa Peterson.
A celebration of Ginger’s life will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Braham Moose Lodge, 2353 103rd Ave, Braham, MN 55006.
