WENDELL R MULLER

February 19, 1948 ~ August 11, 2022 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wendell Ray Muller on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.  He was 74 years old.

Wendell was born on February 19, 1948 in Burke, SD.  He was the “baby” of the 4 children of Hayward and Leona (Bohnet) Muller.  He was baptized and confirmed into faith at the Naper Congregational Church in Naper, Nebraska.  He graduated from Naper High School in 1966, where he continued to hold a track record for many years.  He moved to Minnesota and attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis for welding.

Wendell was united in marriage to Debbie (Ruckle) at Lake Tahoe, CA.  They built their home and resided in Ogilvie where they operated their masonry business.  Wendell spent his lifetime perfecting his trade and growing the business to what it is today with Deb’s help as his office manager.

Wendell loved the outdoors; especially his daily side-by-side drives to watch and feed the wildlife as well as take countless pictures to prove it.  He also enjoyed cutting wood (not really) but it needed to be done.  He always took time to gamble a little to “support the local economy”.  Sobriety was paramount in Wendell’s life, and he was proud of his 36+ years.

Wendell was a dedicated rider of Harley Davidson motorcycles.  He always purchased the limited edition with special color choice.  His last was a 2021 Harley Trike in the color “Snake Venom”.  He and Deb enjoyed long bike trips including many to the Sturgis motorcycle rally.

Most of all, Wendell loved spending time with the grandkids. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wendell is preceded in death by his parents, Hayward and Leona; sister Beverly; brother Terry; grandson Craig; and son-in-law Rich Gannon.

Wendell is survived by his wife Deb; 6 daughters, Sherrie Kuchenbaker (David Deforest), Delana Risser (Neal Anderson), Candice Cox (Leslie Cable), Shelley Muller (Jonathan Nickey), Michelle (Jason) Vedders, and Alicia Gannon; 9 grandchildren; sister Myrna; as well as many relatives, friends and business associates.

A Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes – Akkerman Chapel in Mora and one hour prior to the service.
